Here are some dates for this semester!

 

Nov. 24: No private lessons, but we WILL hold classes for trios on the 22nd, and private lessons on the 23rd. Happy Thanksgiving!

 

December 11th (Saturday): CHRISTMAS RECITALS! (Note the plurality! :) 

       Andante Trios (Class time is Mondays at 4:30) will be at 11:00 am.  Should only last 45 minutes.

       Allegro Trios (Class time is Mondays at 3:30) will be at Noon.  Should only last 45 minutes.

      Presto Trios (Class time is Mondays at 5:30) will be at 1:00 pm.  Should last approximately one hour.

 

ALL Recitals will be held in my basement.  No costumes, but best dress is preferred.  No extra rehearsals other than class. I would love to go back to the Middle School in the Spring.  (Depending on the pandemic).  Masking at this recital is individual preference.  Students will not sing with masks.

 

All Private students will sing at times assigned at a later date. (If you are in a Trio, you will automatically be assigned to that time.)  If you have a request, please let me know soon!

 

After the recital, classes and private study will be over! (However, there may be some need to schedule private lessons for some looking ahead to deadlines of scholarship, sterling scholar, etc. during the Christmas Break. Those will be scheduled randomly.)

 

NOTE:  December tuition for Trio's will be $20 (half price).  There is only one class plus the recital day before we dismiss for the Christmas break.

 

Classes and private study will resume on January 10th.

Fall 2020!

 Fall is here and I have moved into a new home and a new studio!  We are excited to start again and welcome you to a new semester!

As you all know, COVID-19 could dictate a lot of our schedules for classes and for performances for awhile.  We have kept class sizes to 8 or less and will be cautious and clean!  Please don't come to class or private study if you feel sick.  I would appreciate you letting me know of any absence!

I have emailed all of you with the tentative schedule for private study and the solid schedule for three Trio classes.  If you haven't been notified, please let me know asap!

A recital may not be allowed, but we're going to try!  I'll keep you posted!

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE #3

Hi everyone!

I hope you're all staying healthy and well and sane . . . I'm going a bit stir crazy here but am grateful for health.

As of today, I will still be holding private lessons ONLY.  We'll put TRIO's and TEENS on hold until further notice.  I'm sincerely hoping that we can get back to normal soon but will certainly abide government restrictions until they've been lifted. 

Please be reminded that private students lessons are flexible as well and should NOT come if they're feeling ill.  I will also notify you if health status changes in any way with me.  After each student leaves, I vigilantly spray down and disinfect the studio.  Private lessons also may negotiate different times if needed and/or wanted.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me!  Keep singing during this time!  Voices get out of shape pretty quickly so take advantage of this time to progress!  I'm happy to make any suggestions via online if you'd like some help.  Thanks for uniting with me and our government in keeping ourselves healthy and safe.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE #2!

Due to the following updated guidelines from President Trump, I have decided to cancel TAVACI TEENS for the next two weeks.  At least. 

"Avoid social gatherings in groups of more than 10 people."

We are also advised to have personal space and I can't say that we have much of that in my studio with Teens!  So (FOR NOW!), we will continue only with TaVaci TRIO's and private lessons.  Again, if you feel a need to cancel for private lessons due to illness (AT ALL!  No questions asked!), please just let me know.  Trio's too!

As of today, I plan to start up Teens after Spring Break.  I'll keep you posted!  Stay safe and wash your hands!

CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK! Important information

I'm sure many of you are wondering about whether we will continue having Teens, Trios and private lessons and the answer is YES!  I will continue with my regular studio schedule for now.  I also need to tell you that we will take this one day at a time but any changes will be posted HERE so please check back daily.
As of today, I do not see a threat to our community that merits a shut down of my studio.  HOWEVER, if your child is ill in any way, please do not send them.  I will have plenty of hand sanitizers available and will lysol spray down the studio, but the best thing we can do is avoid any contact with each other if we are coughing, sneezing, have fevers or sore throats etc.  I'd appreciate an email or text if your student will not be attending class or private lessons prior to their designated time.
Additionally, our recital is scheduled for April 30th.  I sincerely hope that we can still go ahead with it.  However, if the school is not in session by then, we will either reschedule or cancel.  The learning that has and will continue to happen is valuable whether we put it on the stage or not! I'm sure loving teaching this semester!  Thank you for allowing me to have these great humans in my life!

Important Information for Spring Semester 2020

Welcome back to a new semester of vocal study!  I love teaching these classes and my private students!  Thank you for your trust in me!

Important Dates:

February 17:  Master Class for School Solo & Ensemble Festival. 9:00 AM.(My Studio) No private lessons this day. If you are participating in this festival, please mark your calendar to attend this mandatory class!  Accompanist fee will be due that day.  ($20 per song.  Please make all checks payable to ME and I will pay accompanists.)  You do not get your own accompanist!  Please come warmed up and ready to sing!
Feb. 18:  School Solo & Ensemble Festival.  (BEHS) Times will be assigned.  Check the schedule posted outside the choir room at the high school.  I will also have a schedule so you are welcome to email me for individual information.
Feb. 26 - 28: I'm Out of town.  TEEN classes WILL be held. (Heather will sub!) No private lessons on these days.
Feb. 29:  NATS auditions.  I will tell you your scheduled time.  If you are involved in this, you know it!  If not, disregard this date. :) This competition will be held at Weber State University this year. 
March 12:  Region Solo & Ensemble.  This competition will be held at Bonneville High School this year.  If you qualified to compete, I will let you know your time when I get the schedule.
March 24 - 26:  I will be out of town.  No private lessons but Heather will sub TEENS & TRIOS. 
March 30 - 3:  SPRING BREAK! No classes or Private Lessons.  Enjoy the (HOPEFULLY!) beautiful spring weather!
April 25:  State Solo & Ensembles.  Qualifiers will be notified after Region.  This will be held again at North Ridge High School in Layton.
THURSDAY, APRIL 30th:  SPRING RECITAL at Box Elder Middle School. There will be two recitals again (6:00 & 7:00 pm),  and I will let you know which recital you sing in if you are a private student; Teens and Trios will sing in the 6:00 pm recital.

Our Christmas Recital is THIS TUESDAY at Box Elder Middle School Auditorium!  TEENS and TRIOS need to be at a rehearsal in the auditorium from 3:00 - 4:30 pm.  TEENS and TRIOS will then be excused and should be BACK to the auditorium in best dressed, ready to go by 5:45 pm.  The Recital BEGINS at 6:00 pm (I start on time!).  It should only last 40 minutes!  The SECOND recital will begin at 7:00 pm!  (Please stay if you can, as that one will be short too!) The following is a breakdown of WHO sings in WHICH recital!

6:00 pm:

ALL Teens and Trio's, Bethany Wallentine, Brooke Dewberry, Megan Haynie, Kathryn Brockbank, Sarah Williams, Davis Nelson, Halle Robinson, Sydnie Zundel.

7:00 pm:  Janessa Daines, Chelsea Pett, Kylee Kilpack, Myah Hansen, Halle Robinson, McKell Hansen, Olivia Griesbach, Kiersten Langford, Camryn Gardner, Ashlyn Breaithwaite, Maddy Cannon.

ALL students should be in BEST Christmas dress!  

Additionally, there is a Master Class for ALL private students on Monday at 3:00 pm (My studio).  AND, an optional staging from 4:30 - 5:30 at the Middle School on Tuesday (the day of the recital.)    

FINALLY . . . classes and private lessons will be over until January!  Have a great holiday!

We started Trios today and had a blast!  Private students began yesterday and will continue tomorrow and culminate with Teens at 4:00 pm!  We're having a blast and learning a lot!  Here's to a brand new semester!  The possibilities are endless!

Private Study Orientation Meeting

ALL Private students are required to attend a 30 minute meeting THIS Wednesday, September 4, at 8:00 AM!  This will only last until 8:30 which will give you plenty of time to get to school on time!  Please don't be late!  Information will be given and questions asked.  See you all then!

Fall Registration for 2019-2020

Welcome back!  The schedule for the studio is as follows:

Monday:  Private Lessons
Tuesday:  TaVaci Trios (5:00 pm - 6:00 pm)
Wednesday:  TaVaci Teens (4:00 pm-5:00 pm with a possible second class added from 5 - 6 if needed)

Private lessons will also be taught on Tuesday and Wednesday. Following registration, I will solidify that schedule as well. Request can be made by emailing me. (tamivan@reagan.com)

Classes and lessons begin the week of September 9th.  (AFTER Peach Days!)

Spring Vocal Recital TIME assigned/Schedule

Spring Recital is THIS THURSDAY, April 25th at the Box Elder Middle School Auditorium!  We are excited to perform for all of you and hope you'll enjoy this wonderful evening of carefully selected music!

ALSO:  Please have TaVaci Teens Students AND Trio's wear their shirts to school on Thursday and to the rehearsal after school. 

The schedule for that day is as follows:

3:00 pm:  Both TaVAci Teen classes AND TRIO's will meet me at the auditorium at 3:00 pm.  We will rehearse and stage the recital until 4:15 pm.  At that time they will be released and need to be back in their assigned seat by 5:45 pm.  BEST DRESS.
4:30 - 5:30:  I have set this time aside for all private student solo's and ensembles.  If you would like to do a run-through, please come ready to sing.  This is not mandatory but IS for your own benefit.

In order to attempt to accommodate students and their families, I have broken the recital into two different time slots.  Please find your students name and/or class and plan accordingly.  We will start the 6:00 pm recital on time (Don't be late!) and we will start the 7:00 pm as close to 7:00 as possible! (Depending on high quickly we get finished!)

Choosing soloists is always a difficult task....  MANY of the girls could have sung them and done them very well!  These were chosen based on ability, style of song and appropriateness of voice for that particular genre.  Thank you for being so supportive of your fellow classmates and cheering them on! It'll be someone else's turn next time!

If deemed necessary, I will rehearse with these girls outside of class.  I will contact them individually to schedule if that is the case.

REMINDER for Master Class!

Don't forget Master Class for all those participating in the Solo & Ensemble Festival!  The Master Class is tomorrow (Monday), February 18th at 9:00 am - 11:00 am.  Please students!  Come warmed up and ready to sing!  We will be in my HOME so come in and sign the list on the bar!  ALSO, don't forget to bring $20 for your accompanist fee!  If you're singing in an ensemble, divide the fee amongst participants. i.e. Duets:  $10 per person, Quartette:  $5 per person. Solo's are $20.  Please don't eat before you come!  There will be food here to snack on after you sing!

School Festival Master Class

The Master Class for students singing in the School Festival on February 19th, will be held on MONDAY, February 18th at 9:00 am in my home!  (I know this is Presidents Day, so please plan accordingly!)  If Monday and Tuesday students could come from 9:00 - 10:00 am and Wednesday and Thursday students could come from 10:00-11:00 am, I think this would allow less wait time and still have an audience for critique.  These are only suggested times so we are flexible! This will be the opportunity they will have to sing in front of each other AND rehearse with their accompanist.  Please send $20 for accompanist fee to this Master Class --- cash OR check (made out to Tami Van Dusen), OR you can VENMO me or pay on this site.  (Choose the top icon on the right that says "Pay Now" and put in amount.) For Your Information:  The BE High School Festival is down at the High School choir and band rooms.  The performances are open to the public and will have outside adjudicators listening to the students performance with written evaluations given to them the following day.  Parents are welcome to come.  An assigned "time" for the individual students solo, as well as any ensemble they are involved in, will be given this week.  I will also have a schedule at the Master Class.  You are welcome to text me if your student has not communicated that with you!
Region qualifiers will be chosen from this event and will be posted the next morning (Feb. 20th) outside the choir room. I will update Region and State events as qualifiers are announced.

Christmas Vocal Recital Info!

Below are the assignments for the Recital to be held on Thursday, Dec. 6th at the Box Elder Middle School Auditorium! There will be a 6:00 pm recital and a 7:00 pm recital.  (I start on time!  Don't be late! :) Each recital will last approximately 50 minutes. (The order listed below is NOT the order on the program which has not been solidified yet.) 

AFTER the recital, all classes will be over until January 15th.  All private study will be over as well unless otherwise scheduled.

On that day, ALL Teens and ALL Trios will rehearse from 3:00 - 4:30 pm (This is a mandatory rehearsal. No audience please).  Staging for Private Students is not mandatory, but optional, but encouraged, on the same stage beginning at 4:45 and going until 5:45 pm.  BEST DRESS is required for this recital. 

In addition, ALL Private Students must attend the Master Class on Monday, December 3rd from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at my home.  At that time, an accompanist fee is due ($15). If paying by check, please make it payable to Tami Van Dusen.  You are welcome to pay on this website by hitting on the FIRST option on the right and entering the amount.  For your convenience, I also now have a VENMO account.  (tamivan).
